Privacy Policy
1. Principles
The Japan Arts Council (after this referred to as “the Council”) has the following websites: https://www.ntj.jac.go.jp/; http://www2.ntj.jac.go.jp/dglib/; https://ticket.ntj.jac.go.jp/(after this referred to as “the Sites.”) The Council collects information on all the persons who use the Sites, to the extent necessary for the smooth operation of the services provided by the Sites: providing information, booking and selling tickets, receiving various opinions and inquiries, and so forth. The Council will manage appropriately the collected personal information within the purpose of use. The Council will make every effort to protect personal information by establishing rules and systems based on the “Act on the Protection of Personal Information.”
2. Information to be collected
- (1) The Sites automatically collect information such as Internet domain names, IP addresses, and browsing of the Sites (after this referred to as "visitor information").
- (2) About cookies
Some of the pages provided on the Sites use cookies. Cookies are pieces of information sent from the server to the visitor’s browser and stored in the visitor’s computer to identify the visitor on the server side. Using cookies, the Sites collect information such as the number of visits and the pages you have visited, but they do not collect any information to identify individual visitors. You may deactivate the cookie feature by configuring your browser. Disabling cookies does not affect the use of the Sites. - (3) For ticket sales, the Council collects information such as name, zip code, address, phone number, date of birth, e-mail address, membership number, school name, student number, sales history, etc.
- (4) By visiting “Contact Us” and using our online contact form , you may be asked to provide your name, e-mail address, gender, age, etc. In addition, the sender’s e-mail address will be displayed on the recipient’s side.
- (5) In addition to the ticket sales, the Council will collect the sender's e-mail address, name, address, and phone number in receiving the online contact form or e-mail to the Council's person in charge of the domain "@ntj.jac.go.jp".
- (6) In asking for cooperation in public relations activities for the Japan Arts Fund, the Council will collect the activity name, activity URL, organization name, name of the person in charge, phone number, e-mail address, postal code, organization location, shipping address to send flyers, the desired number of sheets, scheduled date of implementation and end of the activity, preferred arrival date, etc.
- (7) When applying for membership of Azekura-kai or Bunraku-tomo-no-kai, and when members use membership benefits, the Council collects their names, addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, e-mail addresses, sales history, etc.
- (8) The Council will collect names, phone numbers, fax numbers, and e-mail addresses in requesting public comment.
3. Purpose of use
- (1) The Council will use the information collected under articles 2. (1) and 2. (2) as a reference to facilitate its management of services.
- (2) The Council will use the information collected under Article 2. (3) for back-office operations of ticket booking/purchase (including sending out invoices,) delivery, e-mail notification (including communications,) , and other related services.
- (3) The Council will use opinions and requests collected under Article 2. (4) for future policy planning. For this reason, the Council may transfer them to the relevant departments of the Council or disclose them anonymously. (Except in the cases that the disclosure of the name, etc., was informed in advance or that the Council obtains the person's consent for the disclosure.) The Council will also use your e-mail address and phone number to respond to/confirm your inquiries.
- (4) The Council will use the information collected under Article 2. (5) to provide consultation. The information includes phone number, fax number, e-mail address, etc.
- (5) The Council will use the information collected under Article 2. (6) to provide event and performance information, recruit the audience, respond/confirm inquiries, send materials, and contact you.
- (6) The Council will use the information collected under Article 2. (7) to send flyers to recipients of the grant programs.
- (7) The information collected in 2. (8) will be used for e-mail distribution, answering and confirming inquiries, and the purposes listed in the agreements of Azekura-kai and Bunraku-tomo-no-kai.
- (8) The Council will use the information collected under Article 2. (9) only to contact you regarding your opinions, for example, to confirm the content.
4. Restrictions on use and disclosure
Unless required based on laws, the Council will never share collected information with third parties nor use it for any other purpose than described in Article 2. “Information to be collected” and 3. “Purpose of use”. However, this does not apply when a disclosure request is based on laws, or when illegal acts such as unauthorized access, intimidation, etc., occur, or when there are other exceptional reasons.
Statistical data
The personal information of the Sites visitors is analyzed statistically and anonymously for marketing purposes but not for other purposes.
Third party processors
The Council may share personal information, when necessary, for business purposes with third-party contractors that the Council believes qualify enough to manage personal information. The Council will ensure that third parties take appropriate security measures following instructions from the Council, for example, by requiring them to comply with the Council’s terms and conditions, which obligate them to keep information confidential and secure.
Google Analytics
The Council utilizes Google Analytics to track the Sites' usage condition. The Council receives analysis results from Google (Google Analytics reports regarding user attributes and interest categories, etc.) to understand the status of visits to the Sites. The Council and third-party distributors, including Google, use a combination of first-party cookies (Google Analytics cookies, etc.) and third-party cookies (Google advertising cookies, etc.) to collect information about the attributes and interests of the Sites visitors. Please note that the Council is not liable for any damage caused due to Google Analytics services.
5. Data security
The Council will take all necessary measures to appropriately manage the information, such as preventing the collected information’s leak, loss, or damage. The Council can outsource the operation of the Sites, but the subcontractor will also take the necessary measures to manage the collected information properly.
6. Information disclosure of your data, etc.
Suppose the information collected by the Council falls under Retained Personal Information (as stipulated in Article 60, Paragraph 1 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information [Act No. 57 of May 30, 2003]). You can request disclosure, correction (including addition or deletion of retained personal information), and suspension of use (including not only the use but also deletion or suspension of provision of retained personal information ). Registration for the "information service from the National Theatre Ticket Centre'' can be canceled at any time by the registrant. You can change or correct your information anytime by deleting and registering old information.
